Sure, we've all seen a typical cheerleading routine. A bunch of girls clap and stomp simultaneously, while barrel-chested men heave the smallest ones atop a rickety pyramid made of smiling faces. The chance of being surprised by a normal, run-of-the-mill cheerleading routine is rare. So, when we here at SFG saw this young lady's amazing routine, we couldn't wait to share it with you!

Though cheerleaders are famous for being on the sideline at most sporting events, the position of "cheerleader" requires a great deal of athletic ability and coordination. In fact, cheerleading is a sport all on its own. Or, at least it should be. According to AACCA.org (The American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators), cheerleading isn't considered an official sport based on the definition of sport activity provided by the Women's Sports Foundation. However, the website says, "...if cheerleading was made an official school sport, schools would hire qualified coaches, provide uniforms, pay cheerleading coaches salaries like other sport coaches and the community would see cheerleaders as the athletes they are."

Supporters say the impressive athleticism required to be a cheerleader qualifies it as an official sport, but where do you land on this controversial subject? Share your thoughts and feelings with us in the comment section below.
