Heavy people face a lot of criticism - even a simple trip out in public can bring about stares and rude remarks. On top of that, the media puts an increasing amount of pressure on the population to be thin. Magazines nearly always feature men and women in tip-top physical shape on their covers, and television shows and movies boast the most beautiful of stars. Nearly everywhere we go, we are looking at reminders of what we "should" look like - regardless if that is what's healthy.

The video below is from the popular television segment "What Would You Do?" The show, hosted by John Quiñones, focuses on moral issues that are prevalent in our society today. The show features hidden cameras that record the illegal or morally questionable acts of hired actors - the point being how others react around them. In this episode, an overweight girl is harassed by a man at a buffet; he calls her 'fat' and criticizes the amount of food she puts on her plate.

In the clip below, you'll see how others react when they hear these ill-mannered comments aimed at the poor girl. What would you do in this situation? What would you do if a heavy person was getting taunted about their weight? Would you stand up for them or would you let it slide? Leave us a comment and let us know.
