Merry Coor began making glass beads in 2000, but it wasn't until friends asked her to make them a very special bead that she found a true purpose in her work.

Merry was asked to incorporate a small amount of ashes from a dear friend into a glass bead. The experience was transformative. Through the creative process she meditated, and she knew that it was the most important piece she had ever created.

Each bead is hand crafted using high quality American or Italian glass. A small amount of the ashes are incorporated in, then sealed in another layer of clear glass.

If you contact Merry through her website or Etsy store, she will send you a pre-paid envelope and special container. She also requests a photo, story, or favorite music of your deceased loved one. Creating these beads are a spiritual experience, and she will use these bits of information to help her focus on the person and the life that you hold dear.

You can have the beads made in different sizes and with either gold or silver finishing.

Cremation is becoming more common, as is the request to have ashes scattered. I can't think of a more beautiful way to have a small keepsake of those we've lost.
