Nine people died and 18 others were wounded in a shootout between motorcycle gangs in Waco, Texas on Sunday.

According to Reuters, the brawl took place at Twin Peaks Sports Bar and Grill among members of at least five rival gangs. 190 people were arrested when police swarmed the scene, and on Monday 170 of those were charged in connection with the shootout.

Waco Police Sergeant Patrick Swanton said, "This is the worst crime scene -- the most violent crime scene -- I've ever been involved in. There is blood everywhere."

Swanton told a news briefing that law enforcement officers and hospital staff have received threats from gang members in the aftermath of the shooting, and that there is a concern over possible "revenge attacks."

Twin Peaks, a chain restaurant known by local police as a meeting-place for such gangs as the Bandidos Motorcycle Club, has been closed temporarily in light of security concerns.
