Ill-behaved children are out in force at this time of year, and some parents don't seem to be bothered at all by their little ones' outlandish behavior. Innocent bystanders in the stores and restaurants these children and their parents frequent must suffer through the loud tantrums that come as part of the bad behavior.

One customer at Burger King took a creative approach to dealing with the problem of an obnoxious, out-of-control child and his pacifying mother. User thr111 on reddit shares how his trip to Burger King, which was supposed to be a treat after a long day's work, turned into a torture session when he was caught at the back of a long line with a child having a tantrum behind him. What started as a simple headache after the first five minutes of waiting erupted into a migraine by the time he had collected his food. The entire time he stood in line the child was yelling, "I want a [expletive] PIE." Not only was he yelling about a pie, but he was hitting his mom and throwing his handheld electronic game around.

What was the mother's solution? She ignored the child while she spoke on the phone. When the customer asked the mother to quiet down her child, she proceeded to give the customer a dressing-down. Then she told her son that she would get him a pie. When the customer finally got to the front, he took matters into his own hands and ordered every last pie in the place. He walked out with 23 three pies and a smile on his face while the mother and child were left furious at the front counter.

Benjamin Franklin said, "Tart words make no friends; a spoonful of honey will catch more flies than a gallon of vinegar." The mother would do well to take these words to heart and learn from them.
