Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 

The Daily Mail reports the story of Angela Crickmore, who lost more than just fat in her extreme weight loss, and gained a whole lot more than a new body (see pictures below). 
Weighing 182 pounds at her heaviest,  the 5'1" Crickmore battled fatigue and found it difficult to walk long distances, according to the February 2016 Daily Mail article. 

A mother of one and happily married, the property manager spent her evenings after work  cooking and sitting in front of the TV. A slim teenager, Crickmore gained weight in her 20s after moving from her native Brazil to London, marrying and adopting a sedentary lifestyle, she explains on her website

"I felt beautiful. My husband thought I was beautiful. But the outside pressure from friends and family made me very self-conscious," Crickmore told the Daily Mail. 

After hearing the story of a friend who successfully lost weight, Crickmore was determined to shed the pounds. 

She began by dieting. Crickmore ate healthy, small meals every three hours. After losing a few pounds, she gained enough confidence to put on her gym shoes and go to the park.  

"I wanted to jog," Crickmore told the Daily Mail. "But because I was so fat I had to walk first. I walked every day, rain or shine, for an hour, and then jog as I became lighter." 

Eight months later, Crickmore saw significant changes in her body and finally felt ready to head to the gym. 

During this time, Crickmore's lifestyle began to deviate from that of her husband and son. 

"My husband and son Luy didn't want to share my new eating habits, food or even join the walks," Crickmore told the Daily Mail. 

Mother and wife, Crickmore stopped cooking for her family in a "self-protection mechanism" to continue on her path to healthiness. 

Crickmore didn't just look different. She felt different.

"I wanted to hike, camp, travel, meet people. I became so active that I even stopped watching TV," she told the Daily Mail. 

Eventually, her lifestyle and goals became so different from that of her husband's, the couple decided to divorce after nine years of marriage. She is now happier than ever, having turned her own weight loss success into a career to help other people achieve their own weight loss and healthy lifestyle goals. Crickmore has graduated with a degree in sports nutrition and works as a fitness coach. She's even become an ambassador for MyProtein

"I want to help people," she told the Daily Mail. "It makes me feel good."
