Ben Davis of Everett High School in Lansing, Mich., had no idea what to think when he was called out in front of the entire school during a Friday pep rally. Davis, a special needs student who uses a wheelchair, was wheeled out to the center of the gymnasium where a sealed box was brought before him.

As the USA Today video below shows, the box was marked with the phrase "I'll ask you to prom when pigs fly." Once the seal on the box is broken, balloons in the shapes of pigs rise out of the box and the reality of what is happening dawns on a very shocked Davis.

When Davis turns around, his friend Vee Nguyen runs towards him and asks him to be her date for senior prom, to which Davis heartily agrees.

According to Detroit Free Press, Nguyen wanted to ask Davis in front of the whole school to encourage others to look past people's appearances and treat everyone equally.
