Tracy Anderwald awoke and found herself in a hospital bed. She didn't know how she'd gotten there, or the reason for her visit. She was unaware that her 5-year-old daughter, Allison, had saved her life. While swimming in a relative's pool, Anderwald suffered a seizure and nearly drowned, 6ABC Action News reports.

Anderwald spent roughly five minutes underwater before her daughter discovered her and sprung into action. Allison mustered all of the strength she could and pushed her mother toward the shallow end where her head could rest above water. Then she sprinted inside the house to get the attention of her aunt.

"Hands down she saved my life," Anderwald told the news outlet, "It could have turned out a lot worse than what it was."

According to "Inside Edition," Allison learned to swim when she was just 2 1/2 years old. Anderwald said that she sees a lifeguard position in her daughter's future.

If Anderwald had spent another minute underwater, 6ABC Action News reports, she might have suffered irreversible damage. Without quick-thinking Allison, perhaps she wouldn't be alive today.

Below, you can see security footage which shows Allison racing to help her mother.
