Viral sensation 'Chewbacca Mom' sings stunning national anthem at baseball game
Sometimes, viral stars get more than their 15 minutes of fame. This seems to be the case with Candace Payne, better known as "Chewbacca Mom," who sang the national anthem at a 2016 Houston Astros game. Payne became the subject of the most-ever viewed Facebook Live post earlier in the year after exploding into hysterics about her purchase of a noise-making Chewbacca mask.
Entertainment Weekly called the pre-game rendition "dazzling," noting that the social media star was full of surprises. The Astros-Mariner's game at Minute Maid park in Houston, isn't Payne's first foray into the spotlight of Major League Baseball. She threw out the opening pitch for the Astros earlier in the year.
Entertainment Weekly also reported that since Payne's fame, which included a guest spot on the "The Late, Late Show," Hasbro made an action figure of the Texas mom with the infectious laugh. Until now, no one realized she could sing as well.
Make someone's day by sharing this the joyful Payne's latest moment of celebrity.
