A dog trained for the National Disaster Foundation used her search and rescue skills to change the life of a neighborhood boy forever. Saki, the german shepherd, was being fostered in a home in California when the woman started noticing that every day the young dog was slipping out of the fence, and running to the neighbors.

There, Saki was greeted by three neighborhood kids - but there was one whose side she just wouldn't leave, and that was Danny's. Danny grew up with developmental delays and had a hard time speaking full sentences - but that didn't seem to bother Saki, "He would take Saki's face in his hands, and look her in the eyes and talk to her - and she would listen." explained Dixie Morgan, Danny's mom.

Before the family knew it Danny was beginning to speak full sentences, and his confidence was through the roof. The love, and companionship of a dog was helping him reach his full potential.

The only problem was that Saki belonged to the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. But after a meeting with the family, the foundation couldn't deny Danny of his beloved friend, and rescuer.
