Are you living your life based on the numbers on your scale? My Sweat Life blogger Kelsey Wells shows that you shouldn’t in a set of provocative photos. Wells posted the photos to her Instagram account.

The photos (see below) show her at different stages in her fitness journey: 145 pounds, 122 pounds and 140 pounds.  Wells said she posted the photos to help other people who may be struggling with what their scales say.

According to Cosmopolitan, Wells’ fitness journey began when she started a high intensity training workout program. Wells said in her Instagram post that when she started working out, she did so to lose baby weight. The 145 pound photo shows her a few weeks after giving birth.

"I weighed 130 before getting pregnant, so based on nothing besides my own warped perception, I decided my 'goal weight' should be 122 and to fit into my skinniest jeans," Kelsey wrote on Instagram.

Wells was able to reach 122 pounds, but it just wasn’t right for her body type. The most recent photo is the photo that shows her at 140 pounds. She seems to think it’s the best weight for her 5 foot 7 frame.

"THANK GOODNESS I finally learned to start measuring my progress by things that matter — strength, ability, endurance, health, and HAPPINESS," she wrote. "I have never had more muscle and less body fat than I do now. I have never been healthier than I am now. I have never been more comfortable in my own skin than I am now. And if I didn't say #screwthescale long ago, I would have gave up on my journey."
