A cappella group performs gorgeous cover of Elvis Presley classic
March 20, 2017
This a cappella group with Minnesota roots may perform in a cold, abandoned warehouse, but their harmonies may just warm your heart. The quartet 7th Ave Band takes on one of Elvis Presley's most famous love songs, "Can't Help Falling in Love with You." The group focuses on Internet video releases at the moment.
"I was brainstorming all kind of different ideas and projects," said group member Chris Rupp on the band's website. "After having a great time with Adam Bastien and my sister Tristin at my CD release party I knew I wanted to do more with them ... I knew Kelley through the a cappella grapevine and contacted her to see if she’d be interested in rounding out this quartet and just seeing what may come of it."
The famous song's easily identifiable melody makes it a favorite for musicians to cover. According to The Odyssey Online, artists such as Ingrid Michaelson, Meagan Trainor, Fleet Foxes and even Julio Iglesias covered the hit. British reggae band UB40 also recorded the song, which went double platinum in 1993, according to the band's website.
How do you think this version compares to the many previous versions of the haunting song? Pass this along and see if your friends agree.
