Little boy sits at piano. His first note leaves judge's immediately gaping
Lukas Janisch took on a song that was anything but kid's play in his blind audition for the "The Voice Kids Germany." The Filipino-Austrian teen brought out the big vocals with the Alicia Keys hit, "Fallin," known for its dramatic style and far-reaching vocal range.
Janisch barely completed his first notes before judge and German pop star Lena Meyer-Landrut slammed her hand down on the selection buzzer, signaling her desire to work with the young teen. Judges Sascha Schmitz and Mark Forster enthusiastically followed, signaling a battle for the talent.
According to an article in "The National," 13-year-old Janisch moved toward music with the help of his Filipino mother who adored singing karaoke.
The performance comes coincidentally as Keys, recently referred to by Rolling Stone magazine as one who, "may well be the most serene human being in North America," settles into a judge's chair for "The Voice" adult competition in the U.S.
