Jennifer and Dax Grooms followed the poor pit bull for nearly two hours - and then it collapsed. A friend of the couple, Lisa Chiarelli, reached out to Hope For Paws in hopes that they would take in the abused dog and give her new life. Members of the animal rescue organization shortly arrived on the scene and found the pit bull, who they later named Cadence, laying down in some shrubs.

They slowly guided Cadence out, her injuries now all the more apparent. She was then transported to a veterinarian where she was treated for her wounds. In a few short weeks, Cadence was recovering and spending time with other dogs. The pit bull now lives in a foster home with Chiarelli, where she's been learning to swim.
