At first glance, Simon Beck looks like an ordinary skier. But from afar, you'll notice that he's up to something - and it's big. Beck has always loved the outdoors, especially the snow, and in 2004 he essentially started his career as a snow artist. On his Facebook page, he explains that he started making designs in the snow just for fun, but before long, the designs became more in-depth and covered large areas of land.

To begin, Beck maps out and measures the area. Then, he decides on a design, saying: "Designs are chosen from the world of geometry or 'crop circles.'" Beck will work up to ten hours at a stretch, listening to music as he goes. Aside from his music, all Beck needs are snowshoes and a compass. Below, you can get a glimpse at some of his remarkable work. There's also a video where you can see Beck in action.
