"The goal of JDHF is to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference and ignorance." Through their Compassion Revolution initiative, they hope to address the stray animal overpopulation in the greater Los Angeles area using an extensive no-kill model. Through funding spay/neuter programs, training and education of pet owners, and other support of crowded and underfunded shelters, they are able to reduce the number of euthanized animals.

Penelope is one pup that might have been euthanized, had it not been for the compassion of her rescuers and the funding provided through organizations like JDHF. From barely alive to a happy frolicking pup, her transformation is nothing short of miraculous. Since this video was first published, Penelope has found a loving new family, but there are many others still looking for homes.

Penelope's story warmed all our hearts at SF Globe, and we hope it warmed yours as well. Let us know what you thought by commenting below.
