This is one of the most heartbreaking videos I've ever watched. When Jason Wood found out that he was going to have to put his three-legged dog Oden down because he's been suffering from cancer, he wanted to document the day by making a video. Oden teamed up with filmmaker Eliot Rausch who did a beautiful job capturing key moments throughout the day in this emotional video.

At the beginning of the video, Wood briefly recounts the time he had to spend in prison almost ten years ago. Wood mentions how he feels like an entirely different man than the one who served time all those years ago. One thing he does give emphasis to is Oden, his support system when times were getting tough. Whenever Wood was feeling down, Oden would curl up next to him as if he knew that something was wrong. I can't imagine how painful this day must've been for Oden's loved ones; losing a furry family member can be just as devastating as losing another person.

Wood says that his dog taught him how to love. He wanted to do the right thing because he knew Oden was in pain, but that didn't make the decision any easier. Wood is moved to tears numerous times throughout the short documentary. It wasn't just Wood, many of us at the SF Globe office were crying along with him as we watched this day's events unfold. It's never easy putting down a pet, but the impact they have on our lives will never be forgotten. Watch the video below and tell us what you think in the comments section!
