In the video below, you will see how to repurpose a couple of common items into really handy tools for you kitchen. The first trick focuses on the plastic mesh bags that are commonly used to wrap produce, like 3 lb. bags of oranges, and shows how these mesh bags can be used as a dish-scrubber. Prior to seeing this video, I would never have thought to reuse these mesh bags, let alone to turn them into a common kitchen item! The second trick uses only a 2-liter bottle and some sugar water, and the result is not only perfect for the kitchen but would also be extremely useful for camping trips as well!

I don't know about you, but I always feel extremely guilty when I throw away plastic products used for packaging food. According to the Duke Center for Sustainability and Commerce, approximately 55% of the overall 220 million tons of waste produced by Americans each year ends up in landfills. At the rate the human race is producing waste, it's crucial to start finding more ways to reuse, repurpose, and recycle our materials. We at SF Globe loved this video because it not only provides some money-saving techniques, but it also provides knowledge that can help reduce waste and in turn help our environment.
