A team of Swedish atheletes known as Team Peak Performance knew that when they embarked on the journey described below, they would face terrible conditions, rough natural obstacles and feats of strength and character. However, they did not count on meeting a friend who would go on to change their outlook on life.

Midway throughout the team's journey of a 430-mile endurance race through Ecuador, they met a stray dog. Just before starting the first stage of the trek, team member Mikael Lindnord noticed a stray dog begging for food. He fed the hound a meatball, and thought that would be the end of that. Little did they know, the dog would begin to follow them. And he did not give up after just a few miles, he stayed with the team for the full 430-mile journey - through thick and thin. This goes to show you that dogs really are a man's best friend.
