Though there's no clinical evidence to support the touted benefits of gripe water, it doesn't stop some parents from trying to use it to solve their baby's woes. 

Gripe water was first formulated in the mid-1800s by an English pharmacist, and the original solution contained sodium bicarbonate, sugar, and alcohol, amongst some other ingredients. Modern versions have replaced the alcohol with ingredients and herbs that sooth the stomach. Nonetheless, it's easy to see why this little guy isn't exactly into the stuff he's downing.
