Three bodies were discovered Friday at the wreckage site of a U.S. Marine helicopter that went missing during an earthquake relief mission in Nepal.

There were six Marines and two Nepalese army soldiers aboard the helicopter, according to The Associated Press.
"The wreckage of the helicopter was found in pieces, and there are no chances of any survivors," said Nepal Defense Secretary Iswori Poudyal.

The AP reported that the helicopter had been delivering rice and tarps to Charikot, an area hard-hit by April's 7.8 magnitude quake, when it disappeared.

According to Lt. Gen. John Wissler, the cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Recovery efforts were halted Friday due to extreme weather conditions and will resume early Saturday morning.
