Real estate mogul Donald Trump has come under fire from Democrats and Republicans alike over comments he made about Senator John McCain over the weekend.

"He's not a war hero," said Trump while speaking at The Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa on Saturday, according to Buzzfeed News. "He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured."
McCain, who spent five years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War, told MSNBC on Monday that while he does not consider himself a hero, he does think that Trump owes veterans an apology. "I think he may owe an apology to the families of those who have sacrificed in conflict and those who have undergone the prison experience in serving their country," he said.
