When you go to the beach, you watch out for possible dangers — sunburns, sea creatures, sandy potato salad — but what about low-flying planes? While residents near Maho Beach on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin are aware of the planes, if you're a visitor, you're in for quite a shock.

The beach is located in close proximity to the Princess Juliana International Airport, one of the smallest international airports in the world. The airport is so close that the planes fly in mere feet above the people on the beach. This 2012 video by David Ellis shows how close the planes actually come to the beach.
