Many of our men and women in the armed services come back from duty with post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. There are many ways to help those suffering from PTSD, but not all of them are obvious. Take, for example, the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center in Frazier Park, Calif. The park takes veterans and introduces them to their own personal therapy wolf to help them feel relaxed and safe.

The wolves that the veterans connect with have also undergone some sort of trauma, and so the veterans and the wolves are able to heal together. Working with the wolves has helped several vets overcome their PTSD. "They kind of teach you how to be calm and confident," veteran Jim Minick "It's got some deeper meaning when they accept you ... into part of the pack."
