One Muslim family in Georgia got a surprising holiday gift while eating dinner at Olive Garden on Christmas Eve, according to Fox 5 News

Eslam Mohamed, a resident of Augusta, posted photos of the receipt on Facebook. "Everyone in the restaurant was knowing that we were Arabs Muslims on the table coz of the language and the ladies were having scarves (Hijab) over their head," according to Fox 5.
Once the group of 12 finished their meal, Mohamed asked for their checks. They were surprised when the waitress brought them one receipt with the words, "Paid. Merry Christmas Beautiful Family." written in marker, according to Pix 11 News

Mohamed included an expression of gratitude in his Facebook post saying, "I can't express how this act touched our hearts. Among all the bad things happening to Muslims and the hate speech that the presidential candidate had made lately, there is still light in the dark. There is still hope within the frustration," according to Pix 11.

Mohamed expressed his gratitude to those who paid for their meals saying, "All I can say to who did that, Merry Christmas to you too and God bless such a beautiful heart you have," Pix 11 reported.

Since the Paris terrorist attacks Nov. 13 and the Dec. 2 shootings by a couple in San Bernardino, Calif., Muslim Americans have experienced a surge in backlash in 2015. In a Dec. 21 story the Christian Science Monitor reports that hate crimes targeting Muslim Americans and mosques have tripled, citing a study by the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University San Bernardino. The information was first published in the New York Times

As for the bill? The photo shows it totaling at least $138, according to Fox 5. Business Insider reported that the photo has been shared at least 25,000 times.
