When 12-year-old singer Shaheen Jafargholi took center stage at Britain's Got Talent in 2009, he planned on gracing the judges with a rendition of "Valerie" by Amy Winehouse. Jafargholi chose the song because it was a favorite of his as well as a big hit amongst his family. But just as the young crooner started, Simon Cowell stopped him.

The notoriously harsh Cowell cut the performance short and told Jafargholi that he "got this really wrong." Judge Piers Morgan buried his face in his hand and Jafargholi's mother could barely watch the scene unfold. But instead of a verbal lashing, Cowell asked the boy if there was another song he could sing. When the 12-year-old suggested "Who's Loving You?" by the Jackson 5, Cowell urged him to give it a go.

Cowell seemed to notice that the boy needed a different song to showcase his vocal talent - and boy, was he right. Watch below as Jafargholi brings the house down.
